Drudge has an excerpt from a 60 Minutes interview:

PELLEY: Mr. President, do you intend to press your request to visit the World Trade Center site?

AHMADINEJAD: Well, it was included in my program. If we have the time and the conditions are conducive, I will try to do that.

PELLEY: But the New York Police Department and others do not appear to want you there. Do you intend to go there anyway?

AHMADINEJAD: Well, over there, local officials need to make the necessary coordinations. If they can’t do that, I won’t insist.

PELLEY: Sir, what were you thinking? The World Trade Center site is the most sensitive place in the American heart, and you must have known that visiting there would be insulting to many, many Americans.

AHMADINEJAD: Why should it be insulting?

PELLEY: But the American people, sir, believe that your country is a terrorist nation, exporting terrorism in the world. You must have known that visiting the World Trade Center site would infuriate many Americans.

AHMADINEJAD: Well, I’m amazed. How can you speak for the whole of the American nation?

PELLEY: Well, the American nation–

AHMADINEJAD: You are representing a media and you’re a reporter. The American nation is made up of 300 million people. There are different points of view over there.

Of course, not all “Americans” are enraged that this is/was even being considered…some of our “friends” on the left don’t see a problem with it:

So what’s the problem exactly? Presumably we can be frank enough to acknowledge that the real issue here is that while Ahmadinejad is not Arab to most of us he looks pretty Arab. And he is Muslim certainly — and pretty up in arms about it at that. And we officially don’t like him. And we classify the country he runs as a state sponsor of terrorism. So even though he has absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, when you put all these key facts together, he might as well have done it himself. And what business does anyone with the blood of the victims of 9/11 on his hands have going to Ground Zero?

That’s basically it and don’t tell me it’s not.

Basically, yeah…that is it (although the continued use of trying to make it a racism issue is getting tedious…has nothing to do with his “looking Arab”, and he knows better…or at least he should). And yet the left has no problem with it. From what I’ve seen, most liberals don’t. They think it’s just peachy that this guy would visit the site that represents everything the Iranian president and his country have been doing for nearly 30 years, and that’s blowing things up and killing innocent people. No, he may not have been in on 9/11 at all, but he certainly has American blood on his hands…a LOT of it.

Iran and its president sponsor and export terrorism…you know, the things that DID cause 9/11, and if there’s one thing that Americans should be able to agree on, it’s that this man not be allowed anywhere near Ground Zero. He and his beliefs are the core reasons we were attacked, and they are at the heart of what caused 9/11. And yes, I’ll say it…it’s virtually the exact same thing as if he’d knocked those towers down personally.

Why do Liberals get their kicks out of the antics of America’s enemies? Because they are anti-American louses themselves.

PCD: I’ve examined exactly that many times. It’s more insidious than people realize, however:
