Via Hot Air:

Watch the entire clip, because it has the entire segment showing what Rush actually said yesterday. It’s not a selective edit or quote like you constantly see from the lefty blogs, Media Matters, the liberal press, or liberal politicians in Congress trying to score political points. They LOVE to take what someone has written or said completely out of context to make it look/sound like they’ve said or written something completely different.

I didn’t comment on this earlier, even though I knew what he said and what he meant, because I felt that Rush is an adult, he can take care of himself. But, on reflection, this and other instances like it needs to be out there, because the left is going to try this crap from now until November 2008, and we need to counter them with actual facts at every turn.

Oops, seems that Rush himself undercuts your valient attempts at defending him:

    Today:
“And, by the way, Jesse MacBeth is not the only one,’’ Limbaugh continued today. “How about this guy Scott Thomas who was writing fraudulent, phony things in the New Republic about atrocities he saw that never happened? How about Jack Murtha blanketly accepting the notion that Marines in Haditha engaged in wanton murder of innocent children and civilians?

Whatever you think of Thomas, or Murtha, or those particular incidents, you cant argue that they aren’t “real soldiers”. So he exposes as a lie his own defense, that it is only make-believe soldiers that he was referring to.

You don’t think the phony stories makes the guy (Scott) a phony himself? It certainly makes him a liar.

And Murtha, yes, he was a real soldier…but now he’s not, but he’s hiding behind his service record to attack the troops. That’s what Rush was getting at. But it wasn’t his main point when he said “phony soldiers” in the first place.

He was talking about the likes of Jesse MacBeth and two others (I can’t remember the names right off hand) who claimed to have served but didn’t. MacBeth failed boot camp (a pretty remarkable feat, if I do say so myself) and falsified records. Yet the left stood behind this guy for the longest time until the evidence was too much to ignore. And rather than denounce him, they just slowly backed away, as if they never even heard of the guy. To this day, I don’t think anyone on the left has ever said “we were wrong” or admitted they were fooled. Instead, they just moved on to the next guy who fit the agenda…who turned out to be a fake, too.

Rush certainly did mention this right after his original statement with the caller in question on Thursday, but Media Matters just happened to leave that out. Now they’re saying “yeah, he did talk about MacBeth…but nearly two minutes later!” As if he needed to clarify it the second after he said it. It was obvious without him clarifying anything as to what he was talking about, but he did go on the record and say what he meant by the phrase “phony soldiers”. But hey, don’t let facts get in your way, ok? Keep spreading the smear, maybe you’ll get him fired (fat chance, he’s self-employed).

    It’s spelled “valiant”, btw.

It is pretty desperate of CNN and anyone else who stoops to using Media Matters material to attack other people in the media. Media Matters is Hillary’s attack dog. They did her dirty work with Don Imus and they are gradually working on the others she wants rid of. The media outlets like CNN and CBS want Hillary elected so badly they will sell their souls to Soros and David Brock to make it happen. Who hold the media accountable? The media say they hold government accountable but who holds CBS and CNN accountable?

This is the letter I sent to Harkin this morning via his website. I AM a citizen of Iowa, therefore I have standing to start suing Harkin. Also, this is after cooling off overnight.

Thank you for embarassing the citizens of Iowa once again with your CONSTANT, PARTISAN lying.

You owe Iowa and Rush Limbaugh an apology from the floor of the Senate immediately. Get your facts from other than that liar David Brock.

How much did George Soros give you to lie so much? If you haven’t reported each and every donation from Soros, Soros funded groups, and Soros affiliated groups, I will do the Democrat thing and sue your REMF rear end off.

You are a disgrace not only to Iowa, but the US, you useful idiot.

Why in the heck did they use Harkin of all people? This guy is a clown. I plan on writing to him too. He has no credibility. I don’t understand why Iowans keep returning him to DC unless its for all the pork he bring home. He lives in Bermuda or the Bahamas (I don’t remember), and doesn’t even have an Iowa residence and hasn’t for years (did he ever?). Let’s send him home next time, shall we?

    PCD Says:

    Terri,

Harkin used his disabled brother’s post office box as his Iowa address for voting and residency purposes because various Democrat Office holders let him get away with it. After his brother died, he bought a run down farmhouse that he hasn’t spent a night in, nor his family.

I would welcome Harkin getting lost in the Bermuda Triangle next time he goes to his estate in the Bahamas.
