Heaven only knows who she’s praying to, though:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that she prays for President Bush to change his policies “all the time” and specifically has prayed for him to sign SCHIP legislation that would expand health insurance for uninsured children.

“First of all, I pray for President Bush all the time, and I pray especially hard that he would sign the children’s health bill because it’s so important for America’s children,” she said on Fox News Sunday. “I pray that he makes the right decisions for the American people.”

Beware the politician, Republican or Democrat, who says “It’s for the children”, because I can guarantee you, it never is. More on that in a second.

But she added she doesn’t pray specifically “for a political outcome.”

“We just pray that God’s will be done. We pray for the children, we pray for poor people, we pray for people who need help,” she said. “And we always, always, always pray for our men and women in uniform who make our freedom to pray possible.”

Translation: “We pray that they vote for us.” If Democrats love anything about the above groups (with the exception of the troops), it’s that they usually vote Democrat.

Now, back to the “It’s for the children” stuff. The Democrats, as they usually do, trotted out a bogus “moral authority” to deliver the response to the President’s radio address. Problem is, this kid and his family aren’t poor like the Democrats want you to believe he is:

In a Baltimore Sun article the family claims to be raising their four children on combined income of about $45,000 a year. “Bonnie Frost works for a medical publishing firm; her husband, Halsey, is a woodworker. They are raising their four children on combined income of about $45,000 a year. Neither gets health insurance through work.”

What the article does not mention is that Halsey Frost has owned his own company “Frostworks”, since this marriage announcement in the NY Times in 1992 so he chooses to not give himself insurance. He also employed his wife as “bookkeeper and operations management” prior to her recent 2007 hire at the “medical publishing firm”. As her employer, he apparently denied her health insurance as well.

His company, Frostworks, is located at [ed. note: not going to publish the address]. A building that was purchased for $160,000 in 1999. The buildings owner is listed as DIVERSIFIED INDUSTRIAL DESIGN CENTER, LLC whose mailing address is listed as 104 S Collington Ave which is the Frost’s home. The commercial property he owns is also listed as the business address for another company called Reillys Designs which leads to the question of whether rental income is included in the above mentioned salary total

The current market value of their improved 3,040 SF home at [ed. note: not going to publish the address] is unknown but [ed. note: not going to publish the address], also an end unit, sold for $485,000 this past March and it was only 2,060 SF. A photo taken in the family’s kitchen shows what appears to be a recent remodeling job with granite counter tops and glass front cabinets.

It’s called “priorities”, people. If they wanted insurance, and were willing to go without some stuff, they could easily have paid for their own insurance. But nope, that’s too much to ask of today’s citizenry, I guess, and it’s the Democrats to the rescue.

Go buy that big screen television or kick-ass home theater system, and just forget about paying for things like education, health insurance, or even food, because the Democrats will take care of you, cradle-to-grave, and the people who actually look out for themselves will foot the bill.

Trust me, the Democrats could care less what kind of people are covered by these kinds of programs. All they care about is that they cover as many people as possible. Because people who are dependent on you for their food, their shelter, their clothing, their healthcare — their very way of life, basically — are never, ever going to vote against you. That whole “biting the hand that feeds you” bit. It’s a kind of political slavery, but it’s slavery, nonetheless.

I’ve said, time and time again, that this nation, this government, has a duty to help those who, through reasons beyond their control, cannot help themselves. But that duty does not extend to helping people who WON’T help themselves. It’s a fact of life that if you pay someone not to work then, by golly, they won’t. The same holds true for every other socialist program the Dems want to ram down our throats.

You give free healthcare, education, or whatever else they plan to do, and, lo and behold, soon nobody is planning or providing for their future or that of their children. It’s the ultimate nanny-state, where the politicians in Washington plan and provide everything for you, with the massive tax bill passed on to future generations and the people who actually do work hard and plan ahead.

So Nancy Pelosi can “pray” all she wants, but we know that she’s worshipping on the altar of communism. Her “god” isn’t the Almighty in this case, it’s Karl Marx.

    Brian,

I disagree. Pelosi’s God is Government.

Mrs Pelosi claims to be a Roman Catholic, but while she claims that she prays for President Bush all the time, she has steadfastly supported policies which encourage and support abortion, and opposed any restrictions on the slaughter of the unborn.

No one has made a fuss yet, but it seems to me that, like Senator Kerry in 2004, her eligibility to receive communion ought to be questioned.

    Dana,

I live in a very Liberal part of Iowa. The local priest was ordered to give Kerry the Eucharest WITHOUT QUESTION by a very liberal Bishop.

If the Archbishop(?) of St. Louis were up here, most of the Democrat delegation would be looking for new churches to go to for the moral cover for their Anti-Christ actions.

PCD, if the bishop issued such an order, he was ordering the priest to violate his own conscience, if the priest in question disagreed. No bishop has the authority to require a violation of conscience. If you have some documentation on that, I’d love to see it, because that’s the kind of thing I love to expose.

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church § 2120, sacrilege involving the Eucharist is grave (or mortal) sin, and to receive the Host while not in a state of grace is the sin of blasphemy. If a priest sincerely believes that someone approaching to receive the Eucharist is sacramentally unqualified to receive communion, the priest has participated in blasphemy. No bishop or pope could lawfully order the least senior priest or deacon or lay minister to participate knowingly in blasphemy.

Dana, All I have is the testimony of a local Catholic. Another point, the priest in question is a far left former political activist and office holder. He wasn’t going to deny Kerry the eucharest if ordered to.

    Dana,

I also have to let you know that Dubuque is home to a very far left radical group of retired nuns that have the full blessing of the local diocese. The Hennessey sisters who regularly get arrested at the School of the Americas live at the mother house here and are leading this group of radical nuns.

    Dana Says:

I don’t have a problem with the nuns protesting; that’s their right. And perhaps the priests in question would have had no qualms about offering the host to Senator Kerry, but no bishop could order them to do so, at least, not legitimately.

Dana, Ah, but said nuns served time for breaking the laws like illegally entering a Government facility, defacing government property, to name a few. Also, they are constantly demanding things be done that would make Stalin happy. They work more for International Communism than they do for Jesus Christ.

I personally think that these nuns and their hierarchy are defrauding the Church for funds and housing to be prosetlytes for Communism, and not really working for Christ.
