Read this story in the New York Times:

Immigration over the past seven years was the highest for any seven-year period in American history, bringing 10.3 million new immigrants, more than half of them without legal status, according to an analysis of census data released today by the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington.

One in eight people living in the United States is an immigrant, the survey found, for a total of 37.9 million people — the highest level since the 1920s.

(snip)

A large proportion of recent immigrants, both legal and illegal, are low-skilled workers and about one-third of those have not completed high school, giving them significantly less education than Americans born in the United States, according to the study, which is based on census data as recent as March of this year.

Hmm…I wonder what could be making these people flock here in record numbers? It couldn’t be that they want to get into the country now so they can receive the amnesty that’s sure to soon follow, could it? It couldn’t be a mad dash to cross the border before we slap an inpenetrable fence across it, could it?

Nah, that can’t be it. Silly me for thinking that.

Not to bee too hard on you, but “yes” it is silly to beleive that they are trying to “beat the wall”. With only about sixty miles of photo-op walls built by the Bush Administration so far, despite available funding, the immigrants have until about the year 2300 to “make it in under the wire”, so to speak.

Besides, considering the incompetence the Bush Administration has shown in everything else it has done, does anyone beleive that the walls being built (by some political crony, no doubt) will work, or even stand up for more than a few weeks?

If you honestly think that Bush is going to build a fence, you’re sadly mistaken. He’s made it quite clear that it’s not his intention, and Congress hasn’t placed it high on their list of priorities. It’s going to take a serious Republican to get it built.

If non-english speaking people without a high school education threaten you or your job… you need to get your sh*t together.

Yes, because that’s all the illegal immigration issue is about, ME. Pfft.

Also, I’ll tell you one more time: come up with a different user-name and use a real email address, or I’ll be banning you from commenting here again. I don’t much care what user-name you use, just something other than “anonymous” or “me”.
