In a blatant “they did it too!” moment, the Los Angeles Times tries to say that Republicans did the exact same thing to the Democrats as the Democrats did to the Republicans in the CNN/You Tube debates:
But, CNN’s Feist said, conservative commentators did not complain when questioners who shared their political ideology had videos aired during the Democratic forum in July.
During that session, one video questioner asked the candidates to choose between raising taxes or cutting benefits in order to save Social Security. Another demanded to know whether taxes would rise “like usually they do when a Democrat comes in office.” A third featured a gun-toting Michigan man, who in an interview Thursday said he had voted twice for President Bush, who wanted to know if the Democrats would protect his “baby” — an assault rifle he cradled in his arms.
Another questioner from that forum who seemed to have clear conservative credentials was John McAlpin, a sailor who asked Clinton: “How do you think you would be taken seriously” by Arab and Muslim nations that treat women as “second-class citizens”?
McAlpin’s MySpace page features pictures of Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former New York mayor and Republican presidential candidate.
I can answer this rather quickly and rather easily.
The gun-toting guy? He was chosen because he was the perfect vehicle for showing gun-rights advocates as a bunch of lunatics, and that advances the liberal agenda that people are dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed to have guns at all. And Biden’s answer was clear proof that that’s the way it was received by liberals. When that guy asked that question, the universal response on the left was “OMG, they’re CRAZY! Take their guns away!”
The Social Security question? That’s a legit question. Many of the Democrats have said they support one method or the other as a way to save the program. I don’t see anything partisan in that question at all.
The Muslim women question? Many of the Democrats have said the same thing, that they treat women as second-class citizens and that’s not right (and no, it isn’t, I agree). While the guy has a Giuliani connection, in that he supports him, he certainly wasn’t working for him, as the gay general is/was for Hillary.
Mark my words, folks, this is the coming meme from the left, that we sent our own Trojan Horses into the Democrat debate, and it’s simply not true. But leave it to a lefty newspaper to run interference for a lefty news network, because these guys protect their own.
On a side note, ever notice that when conservatives say “they did it, too”, liberals get their panties in a bunch? Yet when they do it, it’s ok?

For decades this charade between the Lib-Democrats and the so-called “established media” has been going on. Bussing in students (paid for by taxpayers under obscure-sounding fund names), bussing in of union workers using union due funds… all creating a “look” for MSM coverage. “Always on the spot” always cracked me up when the media used it, and because they were always given advance notice of when, where to show up to represent the 1% of the population as being “representative” of “the people.”
They aren’t. Most times some liberal cause “event” is held in a conservative town, amazing how many of those protesting liberals were “trekked” in JUST for the event, and those watching the news are led to believe this is the “voice” the “real voice” of their own communities. It’s not.
Take a look at what happened in Jena, LA. Same damned thing.
And the “established media” ONLY reported the lies and innuendos given them by the “elite” Democrats.
Conservatives have figured this out. They now organize too. And what’s the “established media” do and say? “We don’t like you. We won’t cover you. And if we do, we will malign you using our word template ad hominem du jour. Why.. we will now have to write even bigger stories, and issue “science and supersecret investigative reports” together in order to put you down.”
The Established Media just so hates being actually reported on. And so do the Dems. Why, they reserve that right to “out, malign, denigrate” everyone else, for themselves.
Yeah, right “POWER TO THE PEOPLE” when the Dems and liberals and “established media” (aka: “the elite”) only really mean.. “POWER TO ME AND MINE, the rest ya’ll can rot and die because we say so!”
If words equal rape, then well, the biggest rapist in this country would have to be Democrats, eh MacKinnon?
