Different kind of open post today.
What we are looking to do today is accept nominations for “Worst Democrat of the Year”. I know this has the potential to be a HUGE list. =)
Just leave your nomination in the comments along with an explanation as to why (as if we really need one). I’ll be taking the top nominees and putting them in a poll to run over the weekend.

My nomination for worst Democrat is the caucus goer who makes their decision based on their hate of the GOP, hate of Conservatism, and which candidate will hurt the “rich”, eliminate the Military, provide socialized medicine, back the unions, and give money to them.
December 28th, 2007 at 11:35 amJohn Edwards is the worst because his ads here in Iowa sound like a Karl Marx speech: “evil corporations,” “crook CEO’s,” “rich exploiting poor,” etc. The exaggeration is so ridiculous and so outdated, it’s preposterous. Plus, Edwards’ ads make no differentiation between the 99% of corporations that are run fairly and correctly and are absolutely necessary for the economy (hundreds of jobs in each factory or store, cheap consumers goods for the rest of us, healthy competition, property taxes for cities, etc.) and the 1% of corporations that have a corrupt CEO that eventually gets arrested and charged with fraud while his company goes down the tubes. He takes Enron or WorldCom and makes some blanket statement or inference that “all” corporations are bad (as if a corporation is an actual person and not a legal fiction). That’s literally as sound as arresting one person of race and declaring that all persons of that race must be evil law-breakers, thus demanding they all be arrested and subjected to the will of the state.
And when you look at him you just get the feeling that he’s probably a huge arrogant douchebag in person.
December 28th, 2007 at 2:06 pmCongress (D)
Self-explanatory (I’m not sure I could properly relay my thoughts without an EMT present or keep this family friendly).
If it has to be only one, by coin flip, Reid (D)Nevada.
December 28th, 2007 at 2:39 pmThough Pelosi, Harkin, Murtha, Byrd, etc. all tied for first until the coinflip.
All of the above are right. BUT, I think you had in mind a single person.(so little time so many people) How about former President Jimmy Carter. The older he gets, the weirder he gets.
December 28th, 2007 at 2:49 pmWhile we are at it. What is it about Edwards that makes him even the slightest interesting to the people of Iowa? He is not a socialist like the other candidates but went straight to communist. I have always thought the the people of Iowa were common sense, self reliant people. I am so mystified at any support he gets here.
I was thinking of some names and then realized that most of them didn’t really claim to be democrats so I had to change my line of thinking. My nominees are: Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Sandy Berger, Ray Nagin.
December 28th, 2007 at 4:31 pmIMO it is a hard choice, since there are so many “bad” Democrites. So then it is a process of elimination, going by bad trait.
I think the worst overall is John “In Cold Blood” Murtha. This corrupt pos (unindicted Abscam co-conspirator) was a huge fat hog at the pork trough. That’s bad enough. But he is also a traitor, a traitor to his fellow Vets, to the Marine Corps, and to the United States. He accused Marines of killing Iraqi civilians in cold blood, before the investigation was even complete. This provided great propaganda value for the enemy and for the Democrites. Since then all charges have been dropped and those Marines have been exonerated. Does Murtha stand up and apologize, take back what he said, admit he was wrong? Hell no, he won’t even acknowledge the issue.
So he’s my nominee for worst Democrite of the year, a massive pos.
