Via the AP:

For Barack Obama, it is an ember that he has doused time and again, only to see it flicker anew: links to Islam fanned by false rumors, innuendo and association. Obama and his campaign reacted strongly this week when a photo of him in Kenyan tribal garb began spreading on the Internet.

I agree with Brian in that the sometimes irrational anti-Obama-ness that stems from his “Muslim background” and his “middle name” and this idea that he is some Manchurian candidate is very un-conservative (although his plans to gut the military are peculiarly anti-American interests). But why is the MSM carrying his damn water? The MSM jumps in and leads off the story by telling us that all of the anti-Obama rhetoric based on his so-called “Muslim heritage” is based on “false rumors,” “innuendo” and “association.” They may be, but did any MSM outlet do the same for George Bush when mainstream liberals were comparing Bush to Hitler, or “linking” the Bush family to the bin Laden family? How about the Reagan/Hitler link? Where was the MSM telling us that these rumors were “false,” etc.?
