Talk about a bunch of hippie bulls**t. TIME magazine selected the ten best moms (fictional, of course) of all time. Check out the list here.
Such notables as Gaia (you remember her, from Captain Planet fame, right), Dumbo’s mom (I’ll give ‘em that one, reluctantly), Marge Simpson, and Rusty Dennis from Mask. Awe-inspiring list, huh?
If they’re going to do a list of fictional moms, perhaps they could actually pick characters that, I don’t know, could actually be positive role models. Like June Cleaver, Harriet Nelson, Margaret Anderson, or, if you want a post-modern female (you know, for the women’s libbers), you could go with Jill Taylor, Debra Barone, Elyse Keaton, or Clair Huxtable. All women that today’s mothers could look up to and try to emulate.
But no, instead we get a liberal’s idea of the perfect mother. Just goes to show you that they have no idea what being a good parent means and probably never will.

Personally, I’m especially amused to see that the Queen Mother from Aliens made the list but the Virgin Mary didn’t. I think that pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?
