Liberals wouldn’t know irony if it walked up and smacked them in the face. Think Progress (an ultra-left website specializing in taking stuff conservatives say out of context) is upset because Bill O’Reilly’s crew sent someone to talk to one of them:

– The Stalking: Watters and his camera man accosted me at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, in Winchester, VA, which is a two-hour drive from Washington, DC. My friend and I were in this small town for a short weekend vacation and had told no one about where we were going. I can only infer that the two men staked out my apartment and then followed me for two hours. Looking back, my friend and I remember seeing their tan SUV following us for much of the trip.

– The Ambush: Shortly after checking into our lodgings, we emerged and immediately saw two men walking toward us calling out my name. Watters said he was from Fox News, but never said his or his companion’s name, nor did he say he was with The O’Reilly Factor.

– The Surprise Attack: Watters immediately began asking me why I was causing “pain and suffering” to the Alexa Foundation. He never gave me the context for his questions. Confused, I repeatedly asked him what he was talking about and whether he could refresh my memory, but he just continued shouting his question.

– The Evasion: I said that it was inappropriate for O’Reilly to imply that just because a woman may be drunk and/or dressed in a certain way, she should expect to be raped. Watters asked me whether I had listened to the interview (which I had) and claimed that O’Reilly had made the comments in the context of a commentary on Mel Gibson/drunkenness. When I tried to ascertain why he was attacking ThinkProgress in particular — even though other sites had also covered the story — he said that we were part of the “smear pipeline,” which also included the “Soros-funded” Media Matters. He ignored my comments when I asked if Fox News also smears people.

– Setting A Guilt Trap: Watters ended the charade by demanding that I look into the camera and apologize to the Alexa Foundation and rape victims. I told them that I don’t speak through Fox News and if someone from the Alexa Foundation would like to personally call me, I’d be happy to speak with that person.

– More Stalking: The camera man then continued to film me as I walked down the block. After a few minutes while I waited at the light to cross the street, Watters called him back and they left.

Now, set aside what the interview is about, because I don’t watch O’Reilly, nor do I listen to his radio show (I don’t even think it’s on in my area), so I have no idea what they’re talking about or if it even happened the way they say it did*. But the balls these people have to be upset at this is just incredible.

Remember, a year or two ago one of these libtards showed up in O’Reilly’s driveway, doing the same, exact things they’re complaining about here. Their excuse? Oh, it’s because he did it to them a few times (journalists do this from time to time, but that escapes their logic), but this time it’s more than ok, because it’s THEM doing it. Perfect “it’s ok when WE do it” moment.

The left routinely dishes out what it can’t take. They send people to the homes of those they dislike or disagree with to harass them. They send their activists out to follow, hound, harass, and record everything Republican candidates say, hoping to catch something useful for their cause. And, no surprise, at times they get violent.

Until you guys on the left clean up your act, you’ve no right to complain when it’s thrown right back at you. And, to be honest, conservatives are getting tired of playing by “the rules” that we hold ourselves to. For example, people on the right don’t normally do protests, but they have been lately, with growing numbers. Expect to see more of this in the future. As the movie line goes, “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.”

*For the record, let’s assume (yes, I know what happens when you “assume”) Think Progress is telling the truth and O’Reilly did say what he said about the rape victim, and said it exactly as they claim. What’s the problem? He didn’t say she deserved to be raped, only that by dressing the way she did and getting drunk that she had increased her risk of getting raped. Where’s the controversy? You engage in risky behavior, don’t be surprised when something bad happens as a result. That doesn’t excuse the person who raped her one bit, so don’t try and twist my words. I’m only saying, as I suspect O’Reilly was, too, that by dressing the way she did and getting drunk, she increased her risk, and single women (and men), out on the town alone, should be very, very careful and not do the things she did. We live in a dangerous, mess-up world, and there are dangers, so you have to be aware of your surroundings and prepared.

Of course, if we let law-abiding people carry a gun, maybe there would have been a different ending to this story. But the libs don’t want that, do they?

Update: Lefties are harassing the advertisers on O’Reilly’s show into pulling their ads (typical). Their progress so far? Not so good, if you ask me. Although they did get one minor Ford employee to lick their boots. Ford — to their credit — immediately said that this person’s view is not that of the company as a whole. In other words, the left might scare and intimidate others into falling in line, but Ford isn’t going to cave in…for now, at least.

And why should they? Why should ANY company be threatened by these nutjobs? Ford, like all big businesses, has been victimized by the liberal agenda, especially over the last few decades. And the rest of these companies on the list are victims of the left, as well. Why on earth would they want to cave in to them? What else could the left possibly do to hurt these companies anymore than they already have? What else could they possibly do that they haven’t already done, for heaven’s sake? Simple answer, imtimidate them. Scare them. Boycott them. Harass them. And if that doesn’t do the trick, you can bet the next weapon in the arsenal is the bailout funds. Ford and the others won’t play ball? Then get the Democrats to threaten to hold back the money. Don’t laugh, because we’ve already seen some variations of that tactic already.

In any case, I think it’s important to let these sponsors know that these kooks and quacks do NOT speak for mainstream America. Whether or not you watch O’Reilly (I don’t), you shouldn’t sit idly by while the left tries to censor people they don’t agree with (which is just about anyone to the right of Lenin).

Here’s the contact info for the companies they have targeted:

UPS
Hyundai
Ford
Sharp
Johnson & Johnson
Audi
AT&T
Bayer
Proctor & Gamble
Mercedez Benz
Chrysler

Remember to tell them why you’re emailing them. Be polite, but firm, and explain that these people do not express the views of everyday Americans and to hold their ground.
