Go around to just about any blog where a liberal nutjob has left a comment, and you’ll inevitably come across the phrase “grown-ups are now in charge”, or words to that effect. Well, I’d say that statement is about as busted as can be, given the fact that our C-in-C continues to screw up such a routine thing as giving a decent gift to another head of state.

Remember, he gave Gordon Brown a set of DVDs that any rube could buy on Amazon or eBay. And, to top it all off, they were the wrong format and he couldn’t watch them.

You have Joe Biden over in Spain and he tells the Spanish Prime Minister thanks for all the help in Iraq. Spain, if you recall, cut and ran immediately after the terrorist attack and the elections that put the current PM in power.

Now you have Obama giving Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, an iPod. The kicker? She already has one. And, again, to top it all off Obama’s people (who apparently thought this was a super idea) loaded it up with songs, pictures and videos of her previous visits to the United States (as if nobody in her entourage thought to take any pictures of the visit), and — get this — speeches that Urkelbama gave to the DNC in 2004 and his 2009 Inauguration Address (did they leave in the botched oath?).

So, Obama proves, once again, that it’s all about him. This isn’t “grown-ups”, this is teenagers gone wild.

By the way, the Queen apparently learned a thing or two from her Prime Minister’s gift exchange debacle. She gave the First Couple a silver-framed autographed photo of herself and Prince Philip.

Note: the songbook signed by Richard Rodgers was a good gift, assuming Her Majesty likes that kind of music. If she doesn’t (and who knows?), then it’s pointless to have given it to her. It’s like people and gift cards at Christmas. To me, when you give a gift card to someone as a present (whether it’s for Christmas, a birthday, an anniversary, or whatever) that says “I don’t care enough about you to bother shopping for you, much less put any effort into thinking of something you’d like, so I took the easy way out and got you this card. Enjoy!”
