Most ethical party EVAH!

Rep. Jane Harman , the California Democrat with a longtime involvement in intelligence issues, was overheard on an NSA wiretap telling a suspected Israeli agent that she would lobby the Justice Department to reduce espionage-related charges against two officials of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the most powerful pro-Israel organization in Washington.

Harman was recorded saying she would “waddle into” the AIPAC case “if you think it’ll make a difference,” according to two former senior national security officials familiar with the NSA transcript.

In exchange for Harman’s help, the sources said, the suspected Israeli agent pledged to help lobby Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., then-House minority leader, to appoint Harman chair of the Intelligence Committee after the 2006 elections, which the Democrats were heavily favored to win.

Seemingly wary of what she had just agreed to, according to an official who read the NSA transcript, Harman hung up after saying, “This conversation doesn’t exist.”

Go read just about any liberal blog and see what they have to say, including the comments. Is this Democrat responsible? Is she corrupt? Did she break the law? Should she resign? No, no, no and no (and those aren’t the only natural questions to ask, but you get the point). Almost to a person, they are blaming a) the Bush wiretaps, b) Gonzalez, for not following up on the first case (you remember him, the AG they hated and wanted to resign?) and c) Israel. Very few, if any, on the left are even considering how this Congresswoman might be guilty of some kind of ethical (at best) breech. It simply has to be someone else’s fault or some kind of conspiracy at work, here.

I can hardly wait until 2010. You know these people are on their way out the door, right? There is an outrage brewing that’s going to sweep these morons out of office. That’s why the left has such a problem with the Tea Parties, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, FOX News, etc. They can’t stand the fact that voters are told about this stuff. It threatens their grip on power.

I wouldn’t worry about their grip on power, myself. I’m more concerned with their grip on reality.
