This, coming from the man who sets records whenever he presents a spending plan or a budget:

“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”

That’s pretty rich, I have to say. After blowing through trillions — not billions, mind you, but trillions — of dollars in taxpayer money or money printed up just for the heck of it, he now sees that it’s a problem. Spare us please, Mr. President.

I had a huge problem with Bush’s deficits and his unwillingness to veto any spending bills in his term, but this guy takes the cake. He makes Bush look like a miser. When he shows us some real fiscal responsibility, THEN he can stand there and give speeches like this. Until then, STFU and GBTW.
