Just caught a brief glimpse of Sharpton speaking at the Jackson memorial and a thought struck me.

Will this be the latest in a string of funerals to be used by the left to promote their agenda? Remember the Wellstone memorial and the King memorial. The left used both to promote their agenda, I’m just wondering if they’ll try and do the same thing here.

I’m not a fan of Michael Jackson, especially when it came to his conduct in the last fifteen years or so. But I did appreciate his music and talent, and I certainly recognize the barriers he broke through. Regardless, I hope the left has the decency to stick to that and leave the politics out of this service, but I somehow doubt they will, and I think that’s a shame.

Update: After Sharpton’s revival, we now have a Democrat from the House of Representatives giving a speech. As predicted.

Update #2: Democrats may have ran for cover when this began:

Michael Jackson’s public memorial started out more spiritual than spectacular Tuesday, opening with a church choir singing as his golden casket was laid in front of the stage and a shaft of light evoking a cross as Lionel Richie gave a gospel-infused performance.

If anything will prevent the libs from turning this event into a campaign revival, this is it. “Oh, my…they’re talking about God here! Run!!!” lol
